The Short Version

Your data stays in your browser. We don't track you, we don't sell your data, and we don't require an account. The only time data leaves your browser is when you use AI award suggestions — and even then, only player names are sent securely.

1. What Data We Collect

Award Generator is designed to minimize data collection:

Local Storage: All your team data, player names, awards, and settings are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use AI features.
AI Suggestions: When you request AI-generated award suggestions, player first names are sent securely to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate suggestions. No other team or personal data is included.
PDF Generation: Certificate data is sent to our server for PDF rendering and returned to you. This data is processed in memory and is not stored.

2. What We Don't Collect

No accounts, emails, or passwords
No cookies for tracking or advertising
No analytics or usage tracking
No selling or sharing of data with third parties
No location data

3. Data Storage

All your award data is stored in your browser's localStorage. This means:

Data persists between sessions on the same browser
Clearing your browser data will delete your awards
Data is not synced across devices or browsers
You can delete all data anytime by clicking "Start Fresh"

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Google Gemini: Powers AI award suggestions. Only player names are sent. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
Vercel: Hosts the application and processes PDF generation requests. No user data is stored.

5. Children's Privacy

Award Generator is a tool for coaches. While certificates are created for youth athletes, the tool is intended for use by adults (coaches, parents, league administrators). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
